Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP)

Our Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) provides structured individual and group addiction treatment and services in an outpatient setting. SAIOP is designed to assist adolescents and adults who have a primary substance-related diagnosis to begin recovery and learn skills for recovery maintenance.

Treatment support activities may be adapted or specifically designed for persons with physical disabilities, co-occurring disorders including mental illness or developmental disabilities, pregnant women, chronic relapse and other homogenous groups.

Each SAIOP follows a structured program, which includes the following:

• individual counseling
• group counseling
• family counseling
• strategies for relapse prevention, including community and social supports
• life skills
• crisis contingency planning
• disease management
• service coordination activities
• biochemical assays to identify recent drug use (i.e. urine drug screens)
